Fresh installation

  1. Download the current ToolBox 1 package.
  2. Unpack the downloaded zip file.
  3. Move the unpacked FM2M and SCRIPTS folders to the root of the radio SD card.
  4. If asked about folder replacement, choose Merge.
  5. If asked about file replacement, choose Replace.
  6. If you have a PRO key, copy it to /FM2M/KEYS/ on the SD card.
  7. Restart the radio after copying the files.

ToolBox 1 folder structure

  • Application: /FM2M/APPS/TOOLBOX/
  • User data: /FM2M/USER/TOOLBOX/
  • Stand-alone launcher: /SCRIPTS/TOOLS/FM2MTB.lua
  • Telemetry (background) launcher: /SCRIPTS/TELEMETRY/FM2MTB.lua
  • Keys: /FM2M/KEYS/

Updating from an earlier ToolBox version

  1. Back up your existing /FM2M/ folder.
  2. Back up the files in /FM2M/USER/TOOLBOX/CONFIGS/.
  3. Install ToolBox 1.x using the fresh-installation steps above.
  4. To migrate 0.xx settings, copy the old configuration files from /FM2M/TOOLBOX/CONFIGS/ to /FM2M/USER/TOOLBOX/CONFIGS/.
  5. Copy your PRO key to /FM2M/KEYS/.
  6. Remove old launchers and the old application folder only after confirming that ToolBox 1.1 works and that any required configurations or logs have been copied.

Run in stand-alone mode

Once installed, the app is visible in the EdgeTX TOOLS tab as FM2M ToolBox 1.

Shortcuts for opening the TOOLS tab:

  • X-Lite: long left joystick press.
  • Other FrSky radios: long press MENU.
  • RadioMaster radios: long press SYS.

Run in background mode

ToolBox 1.x can run as a telemetry script on a B&W LCD radio:

  • Open the model display/telemetry-screen settings.
  • Add the FM2MTB telemetry script to a telemetry screen.

If the radio has no SYS key, using only one telemetry screen avoids conflicts because the PAGE key also switches between telemetry screens.

Controls and shortcuts

  • MENU or MDL: open the Quick Menu.
  • NEXT / PREV: select modules, options, values, channels, or list entries.
  • PAGE> / PAGE<: change Dashboard modules, configuration pages, VTX pages, radio modes, or error views, depending on the active module.
  • ENTER: open the selected module, save a configuration change, or play an arm-stop error preview.
  • EXIT: cancel or revert a configuration change.

On radios equipped with a SYS key, ToolBox uses it instead of PAGE for page navigation.

Telemetry troubleshooting

  1. Confirm that telemetry works in EdgeTX before opening ToolBox.
  2. Set the correct RC Link type in ToolBox configuration.
  3. If the model was changed or copied, delete its old telemetry sensors.
  4. Run Discover new sensors and wait for the sensors to appear.
  5. Stop discovery, restart ToolBox, and check the displayed values.
